Boys Basketball - Boys Basketball All-Stars Written by OregonPrepSports.net Wednesday, 24 June 2009 05:00 Hits: 568 The 2009 installment of the 1A boys basketball all-star series will resume later this week in Sisters, Oregon. Action kicks off this Friday, June 26 with girls starting at 2:30pm and the boys starting at 4pm. All-star teams are formed by combining two leagues together, providing a total of 4 boys and 4 girls teams. The Valley 10/Big Sky team faces off against Old Oregon/High Desert team starting at 4pm with the Casco/Mountain West team going up against the Skyline/Mountain Valley team at 7pm. The 3rd place game is Saturday at 12:30pm while the championship game takes place at 3:30pm. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and students with ID cards. This time, the North won the 4A game after being blown out by 30+ points on the previous night and the 5A North team escaped with a narrow 2-point win. This year's OACA/Gatorade North vs. South Boys' Basketball Series will be held June 19th @ Northwest Christian University in Eugene, and on June 20th @ Clackamas Community College in Oregon City.
The series features top graduating seniors from each of the top 5 classes. Game times are the same both days:

Washington's all stars, featuring four players who have committed to Division I schools, overcame a strong early effort by the Oregon team, and pulled away in the second half to claim a 101-80 win in the Les Schwab Northwest Shootout at the Chiles Center on the University of Portland campus.
The Oregon team, which had no players headed to Division I schools, made five first half three pointers, and battled to 45-38 lead shortly before halftime, and still held a two point, 45-43 lead at the break.

All-star seniors from Oregon and Washington will meet Saturday, April 18, in the 16th annual Les Schwab Northwest Shootout at the Chiles Center on the University of Portland Campus. The game will be televised live on Comcast SportsNet (channel 37 in PDX) - girls at 4pm and boys around 6pm.
The Les Schwab Northwest Shootout gives sports fans an opportunity to watch the top Oregon and Washington graduating girls and boys basketball players cap their high school careers by competing for state bragging rights of Northwest hoop supremacy.
