Coach Craig Cokley-Knappa
Craig Cokley took over the Knappa program in 1995. His teams were known for their hard work and dedication to detail. Often playing much larger schools the Knappa boys were well prepared for a great run winning state titles in 1998 and 1999 while compiling a 55-2 record over that time. Craig closed a outstanding career with another state title this past winter. He will be missed by true fans of the great game of basketball.
Coach Roy Altman-Corbett
In 1994 Roy took over the head coaching job at Corbett High. He had spent many years as a assistant coach with the girls program and 1 year as the girls head coach before being asked to take the boys. Joining long time assistant Scott Field, he inherited a great group of kids that won back to back state titles in 1994 and 1995. He continued to coach through the 2000 season as they once again made the trip to Pendleton, where they lost to a great Oakland team. After two years away from coaching he returned in 2003 and continues to coach football and basketball at Corbett.
Coach Doug Baxter-Pilot Rock
After being the Head Girls Coach from 2002-2007; Doug took over the boys in the 07-08 season. Last season they finished 2nd in District Tournament and lost in the first round of the State Playoffs at Kennedy. This season the teamled the BMC wire to wire finishing with a league record of 13-1, then won the District Tourny and first round play off game w/Oakridge and advanced to Pendleton. This was the first Boys BMC team to advance to Pendleton since the league combined the Old Wapiti and Columbia Basin Leagues into the Blue Mountain Conference in 2006. This was also the first time since 1982 that a Rocket Boys Team had advanced to Pendleton as well. His record the past 2 years is 40-11(24-4), and his overall record in Pilot Rock is 104-68. Doug serves as an Assistant Coach on the Rocket Football team.
