As the teams are introduced, you can see right off the bat the huge advantage Jesuit has over Lincoln at the "Cheer" position at 20-10 in total amount of cheerleaders on the team. Jesuit must already be a feeder school to the University of Oregon Competitive Dance Team.  Jesuit's Kyle Wiltjer starts things off for Jesuit with a loping drag step layup and Lincoln's Rei Jensen answers back with a couple of free throws. The post battle beween these two likely a key matchup. The Crusaders look more focused and turn a couple of sloppy Lincoln passes into layups and Brenton Spickerman and Stephen Holt both nail three pointers as Jesuit races off to a 14-4 lead. Spickerman hits two more baskets and Jesuit is in control early while Lincoln is ice cold from the field. At the end of the first quarter its all Jesuit at 18-6. Jesuit has four blocked shots in the quarter.

The second quarter Lincoln finally gets untracked and gets some scores but for every basket, they break down defensively and Jesuit is capitalizing on those mistakes. At the 2:00 left in the quarter, Wiltjer is starting to outplay Jensen while Spickerman, Stephen Holt and Jordan Akwenuke are scoring at will. They are controlling the glass and at the half, its all Jesuit as they roar out to a commanding 40-21 lead. Its looks ugly for the Cardinals who are a defensive and rebounding mess at this juncture.

Lincoln starts the quarter with two missed free throws and follows it with two missed layups. Stephen Holt is still hot for Jesuit and the enire Jesuit team is in the flow of the offense as Wiltjer hits a free throw and a jumper and its 45-21 Its turning into a rout. The Cardinals finally break the ice when JD Esters hits a twisting jumper and then buries a three but Jesuit answers back with a Spickerman three and its 50-26 with 3:00 left in the third. Jesuit looks like a well tuned race car. Lincoln looks more like a rusted Yugo. Brenton Spickerman finally misses a shot and Jesuit takes a 53-28 lead into the final stanza.

The fourth quarter dissolves into a game of ratball and both teams are in a full open court transition game and Lincoln is helpless at closing the gap. It was a dominant display by Jesuit who claims their third state championship in the past ten years with a solid 63-41 win. Many were unsure of the exact final score since they turned of the scoreboard exactly 1.57 seconds after the game ended. Mayber mercifully.

The tale of the tape shows Jesuit with a 38-27 rebound advantage but the key was Jesuits shooting percentage. The Crusaders shot a smoking 50% from the field, going 26-52 and it was the 56.8% in the first half at 18-32 that put the seperation between themselves and Lincoln. Lincoln shot 34.8% in comparison. High scorer for Lincoln was junior Kris Montoya with 12 points. Jesuit was led by Spickerman with 15 while right behind were Wiltjer and Holt with 14 and 13 respectively. Montoya was the Qwest Player of the Game for the Cardinal while Spickerman who went 6-7 from the field in just 12 minutes of playing time got the honor for Jesuit.
