Its also a Girls' Basketball news story, as Todd Zimmerman, who was 1 win short of winning 2/3 of his games in 8 years as the Pendleton Girls' coach, decided to move to the valley, and take over the Boys' program at West Albany.
Zimmerman, who will finish the year out with Pendleton, takes over the Bulldog Boys' program for Dean Roberts.
Zimmerman verbally agreed to take the West Albany post, and plans to sign a contract once his current contract with Pendleton is completed at the end of the school year.
Despite a 9-15, 7-7 season this past year that put the Buckaroos 6th. in the Intermountain Conference, Zimmerman was 139-70 at the helm of the Buckaroos.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 11-13, 8-6 season, and a 3rd. place finish in the Mid-Willamette League, before being bounced from the 5A Playoffs in the first round by a basket by Crook County.
