Day 4
* With only 1 overpriced concession stand, and 1 burrito bar, concessions at Gill leave several things to be desired. Including being open for breakfast.
* Too bad the Lion band never made it, and the Tiger band couldn’t bother to come out for morning games.
* Lets review. The hands are not part of the ball. Also, it should be ok to go over the back, or over the top, when you actually go OVER the back and top, and don’t touch the player. In a tournament where what would be assault and battery in the hall isn’t a foul, not touching anyone sometimes has been. ???

4A Coaches state wide have been dreading the appearance of this column, where by I doom more post season plans than any number of bad bracket draws or turnovers ever could! Willamette NotesBlogs - CCCougarfan Blog Written by Andy Wooldridge (CCCougarfan) Wednesday, 27 February 2008 20:49 Hits: 598 Day 4 * Showtime Saturday night was indeed showtime. And unanimous All-Tournament selections Molly Schwegler and Derek Piete lived (and lived up to) the dream. Both turned in dominating performances that delivered championships. The scary thing for the rest of the 3A field is both will be back. Which means a repeat isn't a dream, its a realistic goal for both of the "R" programs. * Showtime Saturday night was also sellout Saturday night. While Willamette was spacious enough for most sessions with room to spare, problems with seating matched the problems with weekday parking. And will someone PLEASE explain to some zealots that there are people who are NOT directly associated with either team that watch these games. A general admission ticket is good for any and all seats in the house, and for both games in the session. 2007 Top 10Blogs - CCCougarfan Blog Written by Andy Wooldridge (CCCougarfan) Monday, 31 December 2007 11:53 Hits: 883 Scan the OregonPrepSports.net database and you find that everyone reads the polls. Read the forums, and a lot of people will say they don’t mean anything, and they don’t care about them, yadda, yadda, yadda. But sports fans always check out the “Top 10”. And usually take exception to it, unless, of course, their team is ranked #1.
In that vein, I looked back at the year that 2007 was in Oregon High School Sports, and tried to identify the top stories we followed in the year that passed. Here’s my picks from a full year of fun following fantastic young men and women.
