Pirates Put Wolverines Away Early

Pirates QB Daniel Lee lit up the Alsea Wolverines' secondary Friday night, as Perrydale's passing game went into high gear in the first half of a 74-20 romp. Pirate RB Cody Comerford also had a huge night, scoring several touchdowns against the Wolverines.

Perrydale poured in 34 first quarter points, and almost matched that in the second period, with 32 more. Alsea also found the end zone twice in the second, making the score 66-12 at halftime.

Due to the 45-point rule, the second half was played with a running clock, and expired in less time than the second quarter required.

Neither team scored in the third period, and the final quarter saw only the exchange of single scores by each team.

Perrydale goes to 2-0 in Casco League play, and 4-0 for the season, with St. Paul up next week. The Bucaroos (4-1) also improved to 2-0 in the Casco, with a 54-20 win over Portland Lutheran.

Alsea is 0-3 for the season, and 0-2 in the Casco, as the Wolverines head for a meeting with Portland Lutheran (0-4, 0-2).
