Next Updated Rivals’ Top 100 Out

(Updated 9/2)

A few schools have played their second game, and a few more their first, but many still haven't played their opener, so more teams moved because of shuffling in other states than anything they did in the Rivals’ Nationwide Top 100.

Jesuit, the lone Oregon representative, dropped back to #79 from #78, while their first opponent, Skyline, edged up to #19 from #20.

#1 St. Thomas Aquinas of Ft Lauderdale, FL, retained the top spot with a52-7 win over Upper Arlington, Ohio.

Centennial of Peoria, AZ, the highest ranked team in the west, climbed from #18 to #16 with a 51-20 win over McQueen, Nevada. Long Beach Poly fell from #19 to #28 without playing a game, so De LaSalle of Concord, California inherited the highest California ranking, and rose from #25 to #23, also without playing.

The only other Northwest teams ranked are Lakes of Lakewood, WA, who floated up to #50 from #54, and Bellevue, WA, who rose from #62 to #58.

8/28 Edition

A few schools have played their first game, but most open either this weekend or next, so not too much has changed in the Rivals’ Nationwide Top 100 in the latest edition.

Jesuit, the lone Oregon representative, did creep up from #81 in the first poll to #78, mostly as a few teams take opening losses, either of a game, or of their quarterback corp.

Oak Grove of Hattiesburg, Mississippi’s stock is falling, from #35 to #81, despite defeating Bassfield 30-20. The reason is one familiar to University of Oregon fans; Oak Grove lost three quarterbacks in the process of getting the win. Rivals noted “Line play is a serious concern.”

The top west coast team is Centennial of Peoria, AZ, ranked #18, and the highest California team is Long Beach Poly, at #19, both in the same positions as they were in the opening poll.

The highest ranked nothwest team remains the Skyline Spartans from Sammamish, WA, who is still ranked #20 in the poll. Jesuit and Skyline face each other in the season opener on Sept. 5 at Qwest Field in Seattle, in the Emerald City Kickoff Classic.

The only other Northwest teams ranked are Lakes of Lakewood, WA, at #54, and Bellevue, WA, #62, both up one position due the shuffling for first game results for other teams.
