Francis Forum:"Please Sir, May I Have Another"

Written by Don Francis Tuesday, 23 October 2007 15:11    Hits: 232

My mind doesn't work like most other people. Having grown up with a drive-in theatre in my backyard I tend to think in 'movie time' frame of thought. If you have just read nceagle's recap on the trials and tribulations of bringing up what can best be described as a 'labor of love,' the man uses a part of the brain that makes me feel like Clint Howard in "The Waterboy" where he said "the Good Lord didn't bless me with good looks, intelligence, or a fully fuctional brain." That said, I felt priveleged having just enough of a glimpse behind the scenes as Dan struggled to get oregonprepsports.net back up. To know there was some blooming fool all the way back in North Carolina somewhere on Tobacco Road writing Linux code (as computer illiterate as I am, even I can hum along to Vince Gauraldi's "Linux and Lucy") in his spare time (in between his family time and real job) so that cccougar could get his backlogged submissions in should make anyone who rooted for Chaminade against Virginia; or Appalachian State against Michigan' or The Captain and Tennille against Bruce Springsteen in a "Battle of the Bands" cheer the rebirth.

Thanks to everyone for your patience as we make the upgrade!

We hope you still find the same information you have used before, and also enjoy what's new, as the season ahead unfolds.

We are eagerly looking forward to the growing library of video content available from HSGameTime.com, and KGW-TV, that will start to grow as soon as the games kickoff! Check out the football page, and get in the game yourself!

Drop us a line if you find something we missed in the upgrade, or if you really like, or dislike, something you see. The new system means some things are less "set-in-stone", so tell us about what you like and don't like, and we will see what we can do!

And stay tuned, as there is more to come this fall.

Are you ready for some Football? And some Volleyball and Soccer?!!

REPORT TO THE OSAA

REGARDING CONDUCT DURING

THE 2007 5A BOYS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS

By

Hon. Mary J. Deits

April 24, 2007

On March 30, 2007, the OSAA requested that an investigation be conducted to determine the nature and origin of alleged racial comments directed to Roosevelt High School students and staff at the 2007 5A boys basketball playoffs. During the three week period since the OSAA's request, I have conducted an extensive investigation of this matter. Fifty-five witnesses were interviewed, including students and staff from the high schools involved in the playoff games, OSAA staff, community volunteers, police officers who were present at the games, members of the communities, University of Oregon staff and persons working for CMS security. Written statements made by individuals with information concerning this matter also were reviewed. Based on the information obtained from the interviews and statements, I submit the following findings, conclusions and recommendations:

Full Slate Friday was REALLY Full

PDFPrintE-mail

Written by Andy Wooldridge (CCCougarfan) Friday, 02 March 2007 00:32    Hits: 314

By the middle of the night, the 4A #1 Hidden Valley boys have been hidden from the rest of the state by Baker, 32-29, and there will be no double for Siuslaw, thanks to LaSalle. The Cowapa and Capital Conferences are sending 2 boys' teams to Corvallis, and the Valco is sending spectators only. The best game of the post season so far may be the long haul of the week, as Brookings (link error previously stole the Bruin's credit, and we mis credited North Bend) advanced, but only after playing 2 OTs to overcome LaGrande 57-52

The east side of Salem is still standing (barely) after the Oregon City war machine brought McKay's girls' season to an end, 80-55.

But most importantly (at least for those of us that work for him), the boss is happy after his Eagles put up 31 in the 4th. qtr. to come from behind to beat Astoria 68-55!

Basketball Sensory Overload

Written by Andy Wooldridge (CCCougarfan) Thursday, 01 March 2007 01:53    Hits: 252

The 9 AM games that were 1 point affairs were a barometer of the day to come. We saw an OT game, Chiloquin 48-43 over Salem Academy, another #1 knocked out when #3 Valley Catholic beat #1 Myrtle Point 35-33 on free throws at the finish, and 3 ex-GOL teams now in the EOL (how did they skip the FOL?) also now in the 3A girls' final 4.

Francis Forum: "World's Worst Coach"

PDFPrintE-mail

Written by Don Francis Monday, 29 January 2007 09:05    Hits: 264

I've just returned from Los Angeles after meeting with high ranking executives from American Broadcasting Channel where I signed on as Executive Producer of a new reality television series that is cutting edge and sure to be the blockbuster when it premiers next September 10th, going up against the likes of Keifers "24." It will be called "Worlds Worst Coach" and all of America will sit spellbound for an hour every Monday Night as we 'try and condemn' America's worst coaches.

As we approach the midway point of football season under the New World Order for OSAA realignment, some patterns are emerging. Some are pleasant and some have the faint aroma of the Pike Street Marketplace after a power outtage on a hot summer day.
