USA Today (or one day a couple weeks ago) Top 25 Out

The delay in assimilation of data into the USA Today/NFCA High School national poll actually resulted in Marist moving up, as the latest poll considered games thru April 19, one day before Newport's 9-8 upset ended the Spartans' 41 game winning streak. As a result, the Spartans rose to 18th.

Grants Pass continues to be the only other northwest team reciving votes towards the rankings, but did not climb back into the top 25, despite an unbeaten week.

Klein Oak of Spring, Texas took over the top spot after the Panthers improved to 22-0 by beating Westfield 15-0 and Klein Forest 10-0.

The poll received its first major shake-up thanks to No. 3 Archbishop Mitty of San Jose, CA upsetting former No. 1 Sheldon of Sacramento, CA 5-2. Sheldon posted a 5-1 week and checks in at fourth.
