3A State Tournament 3rd Place and Consolation Matches

Final 2 matches of the tournament will determine 3rd-6th Place.  Court 1 is the 3rd Place Match between Cascade Christian and Rainier.  Court 2 is for the Consolation Trophy (4th place) between Burns and Creswell.

Cascade Christian vs Rainier: Becca Sellers starts CC out with a crushing hit to Rainier's hardwood. Jonnie Gilley gets another kill for CC. Rainier hasn't found their groove yet. 12-5 CC. 18-8 CC.23-15 CC, Rainier's got their groove back but just too late in the game.  CC wins this one handidly, 25-15. Big hit by Hanks! Reverberates off the block and goes way out of bounds.

 Burns vs Creswell: Creswell leads, 9-8. Zabala with a big kill down Creswell's line. Toney with big dig from a Gabrio crush, good rallying going on. 16-13 Burns.  Freshman Abbey Fenton with the lefthand kill!  Nice Higle hit from the RS but Magathan digs it up,  Burns fires right back and gets this one to drop. 17-13.  Gabrio with the SPANK, she's only a sophomore too. 22-17 Burns. Burns serve receive is falling apart, 2 shanks and an ace serve causes Coach Toney to call her first timeout. 22-20 Burns.  Textbook perfect dump by Jess Wheeler gives Burns 24! Very nice. Chelsie Joyce's crush falls just outside the line, Burns wins Game 1, 25-22.

Cascade Christian-Rainier:  CC continues their mission for a 3rd place finish and are handling Rainier easily. Rainier's not tall enough to block their hitters and their hitters are wracking up the stats. 13-3 CC. 20-7 CC continues to dominate Rainier. I saw what Rainier is capable of yesterday and this isn't it.  CC wins game 25-11. Game 3: CC's Amanda Beers administers the first facial of the day, Holy Cow! 9-3 CC.  Rainiers scored the last 6 points, starting to come alive. 12-10.18-15 CC Hanks and Emily Sellers going at it. Cassie Hanks with the dump. 20-16 CC. Buck serves the winning serve. 25-17! Cascade Christian sweeps and will take home the 3rd Place Trophy. 

Burns-Creswell: 6-3 Burns. Backrow kill by Zabala, assist Toney.  11-6 Burns.  Burns is playing well right now, Nonnenmacher setting well to her hitters and they're finishing well. 20-9 Burns.  Higle gets another kill but Burn's next pass is an overset and Gabrio feeds it back to Burns.  22-11. Back flare between Higle and Toney, nice!  Zabala with the crosscourt kill. Burns dominated this game, 25-11. Game 3: Chelsie Joyce with a backrow crush.  Toney, hitting error. Gabrio serving error, Joyce with a big kill, straight down the front of Burns' blockers. 7-4 Creswell. Alicia Geil with 2 big kills for Creswell gives them a 4 point lead. Gabrio nails it and there isn't a purple jersey within 8 feet. Tied at 13. 22-19 Creswell. Gabrio is stuff blocked by Zabala, score 23-21 Creswell. 2 consecutive hitting errors by Creswell ties this game up, 23-23. Gabrio dump, score! Error Creswell, 24-24. Zabala passing error, 25-24 Creswell, Courtney Toney pushes it to Creswells empty corner, score! 26-25 Burns.  Error Burns, Serving error Creswell, 27-26. Hitting error Creswell gives Burns the 3 game sweep, 28-26.  Burns Hilanders win the Consolation Trophy, 4th Place!
