Santiam Christian and Creswell square off to determine 3rd and 5th Place finishes for this years State VB Championships. Both teams coming out of the PacWest League, they've already faced one another 3 times this season with SC winning 2 of the 3.  Santiam Christian lost to OES in the second round last night. It was a hard fought battle and honestly, could have went either way but in the 5th game, OES reached 15 pts., first and gave them the exclusive right to advance to the State Championship game.  Cresswell met #1 ranked Burns in the second round and went down swiftly in 3. 25-10, 25-12 & 25-19. 

Game 1: Santiam Christian takes game 1, 25-18. Senior OH, Tiffany Land takes care of business at the net with sophomore setter Tayla Woods setting her beautifully. A back flare by senior Michelle Reynolds finds the hardwood,  SC up 22-8. Time Out Creswell. SC wins game 1, 25-9. 

Game 2: As familiar as these two teams are with one another, look for Creswell to make defensive adjustments and come out much stronger this game.  Midway through SC leads 12-9. Reynolds with a nice wipe off the double block, missed serve by Creswell. 16-12 SC.  Creswells' Megan McMahon, senior OH, gets 3 points off the serve causing SC to call the Time Out.  15-16 SC.  Serving error SC but Kristin Knaupp finds the hole with a well placed dink. Serving error Creswell. Hitting error Creswell. 17-22 SC. Serving error SC. Great kill by Knaupp. 18-23 SC.  Net violation Creswell. Game goes to SC, 25-19.

Game 3: SC Sweeps and takes home the 3rd Place Trophy.  Creswell takes home 5th Place. Not a bad days work for the PacWest League!  Congratulations to both teams, coaches, fans and communities!
