The Final Dance: #1 Ranked Burns Hilanders vs #7 Ranked Oregon Episcopal Aardvarks. Both teams are veterans to this Tournament with Burns taking 1st and OES taking 3rd in last years Tournament plus numerous, consecutive trips prior. OES is led by Senior, OH, Libby Morrison. She was a 2006 Unanimous Pick 1st Team All-Tournament and All State selection.

A phenomenal hitter with stats that make most gasp in disbelief. She's only 5'6 but plays like a 6 footer. Libby and her cast of teammates have been rock solid all season, finishing 12-0 in League and 23-1 overall. Burns is led by senior Setter, 2006, 1st Team All Tournament selection Brittnee LaFollette. She's led her team to a 10-0 League record and an impressive 47-0 season.

Game 1: Libby Morrison starts out true to form and embeds the ball into Burns' hardwood. Burns answers right back with a thunderous hit by MH, Mattea Zabala, Wow! 7-6, OES. Jessica Wheeler pounds one down from the middle bringing the sea of purple fans to their feet. Wheeler steps back to serve and scores the next 4 pts. Libby Morrison stops the run with a great kill from the backrow, the girl can jump! Score 14-13 OES. Senior OH Jaela Dinsmore with a cross court kill to the far deep corner! Very nice! Morrison with another smash. Burns' Courtney Toney answers with her own kill and then a beautiful dink! 19-18 Burns leads. Time Out OES. During the time out, I can share an impressive stat with you regarding Burns' senior, Jaela Dinsmore. As a senior, she's won 2 State VB Championships, (Freshman and Junior years) 1 Basketball Championship and 5 Gold Medals in Track, impressive to say the least and she still has this season to add to her collection. Game 2: Burns tries putting a triple block on Morrison but the little dynamo finds a way to hit around it and does so successfully. Burns' Courtney Toney gets the cross court kill then another point with a perfect dump to OES's middle void. Burns 5-3. Morrison from the right side and gets another kill. Is there anywhere this gal can't hit? She's fun to watch. OES freshman Avery Johnson is giving Libby a good deal of help with some nice backrow play! She has good court sense for just a freshman. Cross court kill by Jaela Dinsmore! HUGE block by Zabala puts Morrison's kill straight back at em'! That was a beauty! OES Time Out wiith a Burns lead 13-8. The Sea of Purple is on their feet! You would think the town of Burns was just 30 minutes away from the size of their crowd. Zabala gets 2 screaming kills and a stuff block on Morrison, the girl is playing some fantastic volleyball! 17-11 Burns. LaFollette with a perfect set to Toney who in turn, SLAMS it D-O-W-N!! Oh My Oh My! Morrison retaliates by putting a dent in Burn's hardwood. 18-12 Burns. Next play starts with a fabulous dig by LaFollette and ends with a great stuff block by Sitz! 19-13 Burns. Morrison with the hit after senior setter, Gwynneth Johnson finds her hitter in the far deep corner. Nice set. Burns' Dinsmore with the kill! Morrison with yet....ANOTHER kill after teammate Johnson takes Zabala's kill attempt away with a great pass to her setter! Huge dig by Toney to set up Burn's attack, Zabala with a text-book perfect middle smash! Another assist by LaFollette. Burns wins! 25-17

Game 3: OES again is first on the score board. Gwynneth Johnson serving. OES 3-0. What does Libby Morrison eat before she plays VB? Whatever it is, I need some. Burns' Libero Ashley Schouviller continues to impress with dig after dig after dig. Not only does she get to the ball, she passes it so nicely, makes LaFollette's job much easier. Huge hit by Zabala giving Burns another point. Burns lets OES's half speed hit go untouched while it drops in bounds. Morrison's kill attempt is too long, giving Burns a 10-7 lead. Time out OES. Big kill by Dinsmore! She sure packs a punch for a 5'5'er. Schouviller is getting a workout from Morrison but she's digging and passing like a pro. Morrison hits into the net. Time Out by OES. Burns leads 15-9. Kill Dinsmore! Sitz with the great set to Dinsmore and another great hit by Dinsmore. Zabala with a great hit that lands in the far deep right corner! Big hit by Morrison that travels at the speed of light. Jump serve by Bhasker, it hits the net and rolls over. Point OES. Next serve by Bhasker is out. Score Burns leads 19-13. Sitz with the set to Zabala, Morrison digs it up but Zabala smashes it right back at her. Jessica Wheeler with a huge block!! 21-14 Burns. Morrison with another kill. Serve receive error by Burns. Pounding kill by Toney. Serve receive error by OES. 23-16 Burns. Morrison again! Another huge hit by Toney! Burns fans are on their feet, Match point. 24-17. Morrison keeps OES's hopes alive with kill number 8,000. (seems like it!) BURNS WINS!!! 25-19!! Congratulation Lady Hilanders! 50-0 Perfect Season!! Another Championship for Jaela Dinsmore who becomes the first Lady Hilander to have won 3 State Volleyball Championships in her 4 years career.  Quite impressive!!
